5. ท่านสบายดีมั๊ยครับ/คะ[tâan sà-baai dee mái kráp/khá] : How Are You?

To speak Thai for greeting with one another, today is about the sentence “How are you?” = “คุณสบายดีไหม[khun sà-baai dee mái]”

Thai usually make this greeting question after the sentence “สวัสดี[sà-wàt-dee] = Hello” as same as English do.

Here below is the full sentence to be used for making a greeting as "How are you?" in Thai.

คุณ สบายดี มั๊ย ครับ/คะ
kun sà-baai dee mái kráp/ká
How are you?

Or you can say the other sentence as below as well. They both are the same sense.

ท่าน สบายดี มั๊ย ครับ/คะ
tâan sà-baai dee mái kráp/ká
How are you?

Notice:

The both words คุณ and ท่าน above are pronoun in Thai as "You". So just pick any one of them to use as you want.

คุณ [kʰun] is a pronoun, equivalent you (polite)

ท่าน [tʰân] a pronoun, equivalent you as same as คุณ (polite to a person of high status, for example elders, monks, priests,)

คะ[ká] is Thai particle for women use indicating more polite(question sentence)

ค่ะ[khâa] is Thai particle for women use indicating more polite(affirmative sentence)

ครับ[kráp] is also Thai particle putting at the end of sentence for men use indicating more polite.
