4. สวัสดีตอนเย็นครับ/ค่ะ[sà-wàt-dee dton-yen kráp/khâa] : Good Evening Sir/Madam.

Today is time for learning the sentence for saying hello for evening time in Thai "สวัสดีตอนเย็น". This word is usually for speaking to greeting to one another during time somewhat around 5.00 p.m. until 6.00 p.m.

Actually Thai people use just only the word “สวัสดี [sà-wàt dee] = Hello” for any time when they meet each other.




However, sometimes you could hear they say สวัสดี[sà-wàt dee] conjugate a particular time(morning,afternoon,...)

Here below is the sentence for speaking to greeting in the evening time.


สวัสดี ตอนเย็น ครับ/ค่ะ 
sà-wàt-dee dton-yen kráp khâa 
Good evening. 


The above sentence is formed by 3 words conjugate together as describe below:

1. สวัสดี[sà-wàt-dee] equal to “Hello”

2. ตอนเย็น[dton-yen] is as “Evening”

3. ครับ[kráp] is a Thai language particle for men to say for show up respecting to the second person; ค่ะ[khâa] is used as same as the particle ครับ[kráp] but for women to say only.

You may know that Thai people also have the particular greeting word as same as English: the word “Good morning” is อรุณสวัสดิ์ ค่ะ /ครับ[a-run sà-wàt  khâa/ kráp] in Thai.
