Hello friends, I'm Michael Leng. I'm going to write some Thai sentences for anyone who is interested in Thai.
อรุณสวัสดิ์ = good morning / hello
Of course, you're right, in my today's article is about how to say words greeting in Thai:
You may know that Thai people also have the particular greeting word as same as English: the word “Good morning” is อรุณสวัสดิ์ ค่ะ /ครับ[a-run sà-wàt khâa/ kráp] in Thai.
In my opinion, I think you have to know and use it systematically อรุณสวัสดิ์ ค่ะ /ครับ[a-run sà-wàt khâa/ kráp] for the second sentence after you already learnt how to say hello.
Apart the word I have told you before in my previous article; the word “สวัสดี [sà-wàt-dee] =Hello”, Thai usually say the following words greeting each other for the only morning time as the sentence following;
"สวัสดีตอนเช้า" = Good morning in Thai language.
In my opinion, I think you have to know and use it systematically อรุณสวัสดิ์ ค่ะ /ครับ[a-run sà-wàt khâa/ kráp] for the second sentence after you already learnt how to say hello.
Apart the word I have told you before in my previous article; the word “สวัสดี [sà-wàt-dee] =Hello”, Thai usually say the following words greeting each other for the only morning time as the sentence following;
สวัสดี ตอนเช้า ค่ะ/ครับ
sà-wàt-dee dton-cháo khâa/kráp
Good morning.
The sentence above will be saying something about from early morning until 9.00 a.m. sà-wàt-dee dton-cháo khâa/kráp
Good morning.
In addition, we have one more, which is given the same meaning as the mentioned sentence above.
It is as follows:
อรุณสวัสดิ์ ค่ะ/ครับ
a-run sà-wàt khâa/kráp
Good morning.
It's very hard for me to tell you more about the word "อรุณ[a-run]" it's a noun, of Pali/Sanskrit origin. It means "dawn" "rising sun" and sunrise.a-run sà-wàt khâa/kráp
Good morning.
Well, don't worry about that. Just any sentence of them above that would be okay; สวัสดีตอนเช้า or อรุณสวัสดิ์.
Please you clarify that if you are a man, just add the word ครับ[kráp]-Thai particle for male to say, but if you are a woman you just add the particle ค่ะ[kâa]–for female.
Thai particle is for identifying how more levels of respect from speakers pay for their listeners.
To help you not being confused, the following is for male to say:
อรุณสวัสดิ์ ครับ
a-run sà-wàt kráp
Good morning.
And following is for female to say:a-run sà-wàt kráp
Good morning.
อรุณสวัสดิ์ ค่ะ
a-run sà-wàt khâa
Good morning.
However, Thai has a word for saying hello for anytime anywhere. If you don't want to remember any particular word of hello, therefore, you just use this sentence as this link สวัสดีครับ/ค่ะa-run sà-wàt khâa
Good morning.
Hope the lesson today is useful for you.
Thank you very much for your kind attention and reading our Thai's article.
แล้วพบกันใหม่ครับ
