9. ผมยินดีที่ได้รู้จักคุณครับ[pŏm yin dee thi dâai róo jàk khun kráp] : I'm glad to meet you.

Sà-wàt-dee kráp สวัสดีครับ
Sà-baai dee mái kráp ท่านสบายดีมั๊ยครับ

Today "Learn Thai By Sentences blog" is going to teach you the sentence about how to say if you just know someone and you want to say the word that you are glad to meet them.

If you are a man, you must say the following sentences:

ผม ยินดี ที่ ได้ รู้จัก คุณ ครับ 
pŏm yin dee thi dâai róo jàk khun kráp 
I'm glad to meet you. 

Or in short form.

ยินดี ที่ ได้ รู้จัก ครับ 
yin dee thi dâai róo jàk kráp 
I'm glad to meet you.

However, if you are a woman, you have to speak with the sentences below:

ฉัน ยินดี ที่ ได้ รู้จัก คุณ ค่ะ 
chăn yin dee thi dâai róo jàk khun kâa 
I'm glad to meet you. 

Or in short form
ยินดี ที่ ได้ รู้จัก ค่ะ 
yin dee thi dâai róo jàk kâa 
I'm glad to meet you.

Pertaining to Thai language has specific gender of pronoun for masculine and feminine.

Moreover, there are particular particles to describe gender of speakers too.

You may know that Thai people also have the particular greeting word as same as English: the word “Good morning” is อรุณสวัสดิ์ ค่ะ /ครับ[a-run sà-wàt  khâa/ kráp] in Thai.
