Anyhow, it would be more polite; just add more particles at the end of the words as shown right below:

The two sentences below are for a man speaker. Because the word "ครับ[kráp]" is the specific Thai particle for only men.

Pardon me.

If the speaker is a woman, as a rule of Thai grammar, uses the particle "ค่ะ[kâa]"

Pardon me.

The only one sentence in Thai; "ขอโทษ(khŏr tôht)", can be used for "Sorry", "Pardon me" and "Apologize" in English.
