I'm Michael Leng, today, I'm going to talk about some Thai sentences that they are to be used to make a question and answer.

This is the core sentence for learning, let's start now below:

"Where Were You Born?" in Thai

“Learn Thai by Sentences” is the blog for you, anyone who fond learning Thai. And today I am going to teach you the sentence for making a question about place of birth-Where were you born?

Here we go to into the ประโยคคำถาม[bprà-yòhk kam tăam]= Interrogative sentence below:

คุณ เกิด ที่ ไหน
pûak rao gèrt thi hnai
Where were you born?

To respond the Interrogative sentence above, if you are a man, you say:

ผม เกิด ที่ กรุงเทพฯ
pŏm gèrt thi grung tâyp
I was born in Bangkok.

If you are a woman, you reply with this sentence:

ฉัน เกิด ที่ ลอนดอน
chăn gèrt thi lon-don
I was born in London.

Here below are some more ประโยคคำถาม[bprà-yòhk kam tăam]= Interrogative sentences with different pronouns which serve as the subject of the sentences.

The sentence below is used by man only. Because the pronouce "ผม"(pŏm) is for a man to say.

ผม เกิด ที่ ไหน
pŏm gèrt thi hnai
Where were I born?

Meanwhile, "ฉัน"(chan) will be said by a woman.

ฉัน เกิด ที่ ไหน
chăn gèrt thi hnai
Where were I born?

เขา เกิด ที่ ไหน
kao gèrt thi hnai
Where was he born?

เธอ เกิด ที่ ไหน
ter gèrt thi hnai
Where was she born?

พวกเขา เกิด ที่ ไหน
pûak kăo gèrt thi hnai
Where were they born?

Here is the tip, the word "เรา"(rao) and "พวกเรา"(pûak rao) are the pronounces of we/us in Thai. They can be used changeable.

เรา เกิด ที่ ไหน
rao gèrt thi hnai
Where were we born?

พวกเรา เกิด ที่ ไหน
pûak rao gèrt thi hnai
Where were we born?

มัน เกิด ที่ ไหน
man gèrt thi hnai
Where was it born?

In addition, you can add the word หรือ[rĕu] which is a Thai question particle used when seeking confirmation of something thought to be true, or to make a question sound softer. Now, I'm going to turn to some sentences that to use to make a questiong and also the sentences to reply.

For example, 

คุณ เกิด ที่ ไหน หรือ
pûak rao gèrt thi hnai rĕu
Where were you born?

There you go, now let's see how to give a respond to the question sentences above, find these below:

เขา เกิด ที่ ภูเก็ต
kao gèrt thi poo-gèt
He was born in Phuket.

เธอ เกิด ที่ เชียงใหม่
ter gèrt thi chiang-mài
She was born in Chiang-Mài.

พวกเขา เกิด ที่ พัทยา
pûak kăo gèrt thi pát-tá-yaa
They were born in Pattaya.

เรา เกิด ที่ อยุธยา
rao gèrt thi a-yút-tá-yaa
We were born in Ayutthaya.

พวกเรา เกิด ที่ ประเทศอังกฤษ
pûak rao gèrt thi bprà-tâyt ang-grìt
We were born in England.

มัน เกิด ที่ ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา
man gèrt thi bprà-tâyt sà-hà-rát a-may-rí-gaa
It was born in United States of America.
