28. ผมต้องขออภัยด้วยครับที่ผมลืมวันเกิดคุณ : I Must Apologize To You, I Had Forgotten Your Birthday.

Today’s lesson is about the sentences how you must say in Thai when you want to express your “Apologize” to someone.

These two sentences below are for a man to speak.

ผม ต้อง ขออภัย ด้วย ครับ
pŏm tong kŏr a-pai dûay kráp
I must apologize to you.

ที่ ผม ลืม วันเกิด คุณ
thi pŏm leum wan gèrt khun
I had forgotten your birthday.

The others sentences are for a woman to use.

ฉัน ต้อง ขออภัย ด้วย ค่ะ
chăn tong kŏr a-pai dûay kâa
I must apologize to you.

ที่ ฉัน ลืม วันเกิด คุณ
thi chăn leum wan gèrt khun
I had forgotten your birthday.

Then the following sentences will be used for respond the above statement.

If you are a man, say this.

ไม่เป็นไร ครับ
mâi bpen rai kráp
That's all right.

If you are a woman, you just say this below.

ไม่เป็นไร ค่ะ
mâi bpen rai kâa
That's all right.

Please you clarify that if you are man, just add the word ครับ[kráp]-Thai particle for male to say, but if you are woman you just add the particle ค่ะ[kâa]–for female.

Thai particle is for identify how more level of respect from speakers pay for their listeners.

You may know that Thai people also have the particular greeting word as same as English: the word “Good morning” is อรุณสวัสดิ์ ค่ะ /ครับ[a-run sà-wàt  khâa/ kráp] in Thai.
